Key Responsibilities
  1. Drafting clear and accurate Bible passages for translation.
  2. Practising Bible passages before recording.
  3. Recording all Bible passages in NSL.
  4. Participating in team checks with other translators to eliminate errors.
  5. Re-recording passages when corrections are required.
  6. Travelling with the team for community testing exercises.
  7. Implementing feedback received from the Deaf community.
  8. Applying TC feedback for improved accuracy.
  9. Distributing approved Deaf Bible passages to the Deaf community.
  10. Supporting fundraising efforts for the Deaf Bible cause.
  11. Carrying out other related duties as assigned.
Personnel Specification
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (Linguistics, English, Mass Communication, or Special Education preferred).
  • Must be a Deaf Christian with a strong understanding of Scripture.
  • Fluent in Nigerian Sign Language and able to understand English.
  • Minimum of two years of continuous interaction with Deaf churches and communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications.
  • Strong attention to details, ability to work independently and in a team.
