Key Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Logistics Assistant is responsible for providing effective day-to-day logistics, dispatch, inventory, and administrative support. The role ensures the timely movement of documents and materials, proper management of office supplies, effective coordination with logistics and transport service providers, and smooth execution of assigned operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the dispatch and timely delivery of official documents, parcels, BSN products, and other materials, including truck deployment where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, deliveries, waybills, invoices, vendors, and related transactions.
  • Coordinate and monitor approved courier, logistics, and transport service providers to ensure satisfactory service.
  • Follow up on logistics invoices and supporting documents for timely processing and payment.
  • Manage stationery, office supplies, and consumables, including stock records, replenishment, stocktaking, and monthly reconciliation.
  • Prepare logistics, inventory, and activity reports and support audits and reconciliation exercises.
  • Ensure newly received materials are promptly supplied to the BSN Library.
  • Coordinate assigned monthly utility bills, including telephone/CUG, DSTV, electricity, and other approved services.
  • Monitor assigned office equipment and facilities, report faults, and follow up on necessary action.
  • Maintain daily staff attendance records and ensure prompt stamping of Bond Duties for new employees.
  • Provide other administrative and operational support as assigned by the supervisor.
     
Personnel Specification

Qualifications and Experience

  • National Diploma (ND) or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse, supply chain, or related operations.
  • Experience with logistics/courier companies and operational record-keeping is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
